After centuries of suppression

What does it do to a people who have been repressed for centuries? If we observe Nepal, it seems that people lose their ability to think for themselves. Whenever I talk to most of the people, they think their salvation lies somewhere else outside Nepal, whether y going abroad to work or by foreigners coming to set things right. I talked to a guy who had made a documentary on a local issue. When I asked if I could include him in another documentary made from our own resources, he asked me if I had grants from outside. Some other people also have good ideas, but they seem to count on getting foreign help. It turns out that most of them hardly even try to find a way to get community resources used. Such is the state of affair in Nepal. And that is what I want to change and demonsgtrate.
